Easy peasy

Sometimes things are simple. Sometimes you need to just get away from the chaos and reconnect with your best self. Life will always be chaotic, sad, glorious and uplifting. This trip happened to be planned before the unfortunate events of this past week, but like most things concerning me, the universe has a way of getting me what I need, rather than what I want.

I didn’t need a long, difficult road to self discovery. I needed one that started with my feet being rubbed. I needed one that included margaritas and more importantly…I needed one that included lots of laughter. We all have trials, but right now I needed something trial free. I needed something easy.

Enter my mom whose always willing to go on adventures with me. I think if you have kids, maybe you hope one day they will be cool people and think you’re cool and want to hang out with you again. I don’t know if I’m cool, but I know my mom is cool enough to make me want to hang out with her.

That’s how we ended up at Hashani spa. I know, I’ve gone to like, what…three now in the past two months. I think going to spas is one of those things that you get better at with practice. I should go more.

We both got to spend the day at the Spa and it was nice. Quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating. We opted to skip lunch so when dinnertime hit, we were hungry. All three of us decided that when in Rome, we should eat Mexican food. We went to this restaurant called Guadalajara Grill and it was great. The ingredients were fresh and many of the dishes were homemade. The prices were unbeatable and I drank myself to sleep (in the car).

It’s nice to know that some things don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes you can just enjoy people’s company, eat good food, drink yourself to sleep and be happy.
