Eat more dark chocolate!

As part of my own resolution to start taking better care of myself, I’ve been investigating dietary ways to improve my overall well-being. That eventually led me to wonderful benefits of dark chocolate. Specifically cocoa flavanols which are phytonutrients that have been shown to improve blood circulation and decrease blood pressure which reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.

It also is a sure fire way to improve my mood. ๐Ÿ˜€

The flavonoids have also been linked with better cognitive function and reducing bad cholesterol. Next time you have a sweet tooth craving try substituting that slice of pie or cupcake for three ounces of dark chocolate! Might I suggest?

It’s a little over 3 ounces, but don’t worry. It’s worth it for the sheer pleasure you get from sneaking in a sweet!

So for 2014, you can tell your friends you’re being good to yourself and improving your well being by eating that piece of dark chocolate. And it won’t be a lie. ๐Ÿ™‚
